AI-Powered A2P Compliance Validation Is Now Available in SMBcrm

A2P registration can get stuck for reasons that are hard to spot until after carrier review, especially around opt-in flow requirements and missing or incomplete legal links. SMBcrm now includes an AI-powered Compliance Review during A2P campaign submission to help you identify common compliance gaps earlier and reduce avoidable delays.

What’s New: AI-Powered Compliance Review During A2P Submission

SMBcrm now runs an AI-assisted compliance validation as part of your A2P campaign submission flow. It checks key parts of your opt-in experience and associated legal pages, then provides actionable feedback directly in the submission process.

This review focuses on validating:

  • Your Opt-in Form experience
  • Your Privacy Policy link
  • Your Terms of Service link

Why This Matters for A2P Approval

A significant number of A2P campaigns are rejected due to:

  • Non-compliant opt-in flows
  • Missing, broken, or incomplete Privacy Policy and/or Terms of Service links

In many cases, these issues were previously discovered only after carrier review, which could lead to resubmissions and added back-and-forth. This update helps you catch common problems earlier so you can decide what to fix before submitting.

How It Works in SMBcrm

Right before you review your A2P application in the campaign flow, SMBcrm automatically scans the Opt-in Form URL you submitted. It then retrieves and validates:

  • Privacy Policy URL
  • Terms of Service URL

After that scan, a Compliance Review modal opens automatically.

What You’ll See in the Compliance Review Modal

The modal includes:

  • A count of compliance criteria passed across the Opt-in form, Privacy Policy, and Terms of Service
  • Line-by-line validation with simple explanations
  • Clear guidance on what needs to be updated (tooltips included, with support articles coming soon)
  • A required step to complete the review before continuing in the flow

Once the compliance review is complete, you can address the missing criteria flagged in the review or continue with the A2P submission based on your own risk tolerance.

What SMBcrm Validates (Subject to Change)

SMBcrm validates against a dynamic list of carrier-mandated compliance criteria. Requirements may evolve over time as carrier guidance changes.

Opt-in Form Validation Criteria

  • Business name clearly displayed
  • Explicit consent checkbox (not pre-checked)
  • Privacy Policy and Terms of Service links
  • Opt-out instructions
  • Message frequency, message type, and data rate disclosures
  • Non-mandatory checkboxes

Privacy Policy Validation Criteria

  • What data is collected and how it’s used
  • SMS opt-in details
  • Cookie and tracking practices
  • Data security and handling
  • User rights
  • Clear statement on whether mobile data is shared or sold

For reference, you can review SMBcrm’s legal resources here:

Terms of Service Validation Criteria

  • Description of the SMS program and use cases
  • Opt-out instructions
  • Message and data rate disclosures
  • Customer support contact information
  • Age restriction (18+)
  • Carrier liability disclaimer
  • Link to Privacy Policy

Important Notes and Limitations

  • This compliance review is currently limited to Website Form and Facebook Lead Form opt-in methods. Additional opt-in methods are expected to be supported in the future.
  • Completing the compliance review is required as part of the flow, but you can still proceed with submission even if some criteria are flagged as missing.
  • The review is designed to reduce common causes of rejection, but it does not guarantee carrier approval.
  • Final approval depends on other factors as well, including campaign use case, message content, and carrier-specific enforcement.
